Q&A Quinn Insurance Group in administration

Quinn Insurance Group has gone into administration, meaning Quinn Insurance UK has been ordered to stop writing new policies. But what does it mean if you’re already insured by the company?

What about my policy?

The good news is that existing policies will still be honoured, so if you have insurance through the company you are still covered.

Ireland’s Financial Regulator said: “Existing UK policyholders will not be affected by this decision as existing policies will remain valid. Customers can make claims in the normal way.”

If you are paying for your insurance monthly, the advice is to continue with your direct debits.

Policy renewal

Quinn Insurance is no longer writing new policies so you will need to switch to an alternative insurer when your current cover ends.

However, it’s always important to shop around and compare quotes when your insurance is up for renewal rather than just renewing with your existing insurer.

The average driver saves £218 a year by comparing and switching through moneysupermarket.com.

Younger drivers
